Choose the right box

Match the box to the contents — it keeps loads manageable and your items protected.

18 × 12 × 12

Small

For things that are heavy but not too bulky — like books and records.

18 × 18 × 18

Medium

For small appliances, kitchen utensils and bathroom items.

24 × 18 × 22½

Large

For bulky items that aren't very heavy — linens, toys, pots & pans, sports equipment.

Pack smart

Packing tips

A few simple habits help ensure your items arrive safely at their destination.

Try not to mix items from different rooms in the same box — it causes confusion when unpacking.
Organize items into groups before placing them in the box.
Put a layer of packing peanuts at the bottom of the box to act as a cushion.
Place the heaviest items into the box first, then follow with lighter items.
Fill the void spaces with peanuts to prevent items from shifting in transit.
Label each box with its contents and the room it belongs in.
Seal the top and bottom seams well with packing tape, and don't overload a box.
